STANDARD MAG LOCK
IMPORTANT – Standard electromagnetic locks do NOT provide Time Delay Egress (TDE) and usually require a waiver by legal authorities to be installed in a residential facility. Wander Control Systems offers Standard Locks for particular customer situations when the end user provides a written copy of the approved waiver. In a typical installation, a door can be opened, closed and latched by the existing mechanical door hardware. The door securely locks magnetically when a tagged resident enters the door area while the Wander Control System is in ‘wander mode’ or is constantly locked magnetically while the Wander Control System is in ‘perimeter mode.’ Entering a user selectable code on keypads on each side of the door will override the locked status for a user specified length of time – usually about 30 seconds – to allow authorized individuals access or egress through the door. Activating the fire alarm will disable the lock when connected and serviced properly by your fire alarm protection provider. Low Installation Cost: Works with existing door hardware and compensates for slight door and frame irregularities. Holding Force: Choice of 650 or 1200 Lbs. holding force per lock which may effectively deter forced access or egress, depending upon door and frame construction. Hardware: Both outward opening doors and inward opening doors – if approved by your authorities – can be accommodated. Wander Control Systems, Inc. assumes no responsibility for supplying the correct magnetic locks to meet your state and local fire, occupancy, and licensor codes. All magnetic locks are supplied with a fire alarm interface relay. While we will be happy to suggest products and equipment to meet your needs, it is ultimately the responsibility of the facility to obtain permission, permits and variances from the appropriate state and local agencies for the installation of the specified system.
